Abstract

Abstract
Prior research suggests that although entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is generally positively associated with firm performance, several context-specific features and contingencies may affect this relationship. Accordingly, this article focuses on the specific context of small and medium sized migrant enterprises (SMSMEs) during COVID-19 pandemic in the UK and introduces firm resilience capability as a mediator in understanding the relationship between EO and firm performance. Analysing a sample of 482 SMSMEs, we found that EO and firm resilience capability positively influence the financial performance and the growth of SMSMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, we found that firm resilience capability partially mediates the positive relationship between EO and financial performance, and growth of SMSMEs. Notably, the study suggests that SMSMEs should strengthen their EO to improve their resilience capability.
