Abstract
Despite being in use for over 40 years, urinary flow rate measurement is still subject to controversy. Although there is a trend toward standardisation of practice, there are still disparities remaining in the literature, both for the way uroflowmetry is used and for the definition of normal/abnormal urodynamic findings. The aim of this review is to present the current use of uroflowmetry in the diagnostic process and the new directions in which uroflowmetry seems to be heading.
