Abstract

his paper investigates the design of a fuzzy PID controller for a positional control system with completely uncertainty variation parameters. The controller adopted linear structures as a conventional one, but is enhanced with better performance and extends the capability in dealing with nonlinearity and uncertainty of the system. Two types of fuzzy PD and fuzzy PI controllers, with two inputs, are designed to obtain the varying gains utilizing their properties through connecting them in parallel to build the required fuzzy PID controller. This is achieved using two dimensional rule bases. Proportional derivative and proportional integral gain vary automatically with the output of the system under control. Computer simulation is guided to illustrate the performance and show the result from the three structures proposed
