Abstract

In 2016 The Historic Royal Palaces commissioned a film telling the story of the gardens of Hampton Court Palace through the Seasons, looking at people who tend the gardens and the history of their planting and maintenance and their annual cycle. Footage was captured over the course of a year and various interviews with the range of full time employees and the volunteers, their individual stories becoming just as important to the fabric of the piece, as the Gardens themselves. The film was published on YouTube and by April 2017 had been viewed 19,000 times.
