Abstract
Home is a collaborative screendance by artists Ana Baer and Heike Salzer, produced under the umbrella of WECreate Productions, in 2016.
In this split-screen video, home is referred as an extension of self, neither determined nor limited by time or space, but embodied by the movements of the dancer. The dual screen accentuates the need to reveal an alternative reading to that of the polarity of the dichotomies present/ absent and leaving/ staying, allowing for simultaneous realities or points of view. Experienced in a liminal space, home represents what is close to oneself, the rest vanishes with the transient locomotor. Home was edited by both artists offering each, their own account of one event using a phenomenological approach that intents to create a visual/aural metaphor for the audience.
