Abstract

The following databases will be searched for relevant published literature:
AMED - The Allied and Complementary Medicine Database
Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source
MEDLINE
APA PsycArticles
Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
APA PsycINFO
CINAHL Ultimate using the EBSCOhost platform.
Grey literature relevant to the topic area will also be searched using Google Scholar and the World Health Organisation (WHO) website.

A combination of keywords and their synonyms will be used to cover three basic PIO components. i. Population, under-five children and children aged five to eleven and their parents/caregivers, ii. Intervention, COVID-19 pandemic and iii. Outcome, health and wellbeing. These keywords will be combined using Boolean Operators 'AND' and 'OR'. The search will be limited to the past five years to include the most recent articles. It will also be limited to the literature published in language English and those having abstracts available. The complete search strategy is provided in the document attached below.
