Abstract

This paper provides a blueprint for a comprehensive Risk Assessment strategy for a laboratory that is currently designed for hydrogen production, and the associated storage of methane feedstock, chemicals for catalyst synthesis, and the storage of gas cylinders not limited to flammable components, viz., methane, and hydrogen (for catalyst pre-reduction), but also for nitrogen, that is commonly used as diluent, but can potentially cause oxygen depletion (asphyxiation) in a poorly ventilated laboratory.
