Interlude, in Luísa Correia Pereira: World Child

Commissioned interlude for Luísa Correia Pereira: World Child, a forthcoming monographic publication edited by Omar Kholeif and published by Sternberg Press as part of the internationally recognised imagine/otherwise series. Developed through sustained engagement with Pereira’s visual language and artistic practice, the contribution adopts a cinematic and curatorial mode of writing, mobilising script form, movement and speculative narration as interpretive research methods. Rather than functioning as a conventional critical essay, the text explores how creative writing can operate as a methodology for encountering, translating and reactivating artistic work. Situated within Sarah Perks’ wider research into expanded curatorial practice and relational forms of knowledge production, the contribution examines experimental approaches to interpretation and artistic encounter. Produced as a commissioned contribution within an internationally recognised editorial series with specialist advisory and curatorial review structures, the publication contributes to contemporary discourse around artistic research, curatorial writing and expanded critical practice.
