Psychosocial interventions for people with serious mental illness

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

There has been acceptance that the experience of those suffering mental illness is ‘fundamentally non-understandable’ (Jaspers, 1959). This is not quite so — it is normal to hallucinate or have ‘odd’ ideas, sometimes (Haddock & Slade, 1996; Kingdon & Turkington, 1994).
