Reflections on, and priorities for, critical care nursing

Abstract

Conference 2023 will be my last as Chair of BACCN. After 6 years in the post, I am reflecting on what has been an extraordinary experience. When I took over the reigns in 2017, little did I know the challenges that would face the critical care nursing profession. I have always said that nursing should be a hugely powerful profession and that we deserve to have a seat at the table, be listened to and be respected. I underestimated just how influential we could be.
