Abstract
Carbon Dioxide storage is an effective strategy for reducing the new carbon dioxide emission to the atmosphere. It is an important action for achieving net zero emissions. Long-term safe subsurface storage of carbon dioxide is necessary for technical viability and economic relevance. It is difficult to determine the complex long-term interactions of carbon dioxide with underground rocks and other fluids. This is due to seepage and leakage of carbon dioxide from such geological sites, posing large environmental, health and safety risks. This chapter presents future recommendations based on recent and distant technical requirements.
