    Abstract

Choreographer for Corin Sworn, winner of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women 2013-2015’s exhibition, Silent Sticks. The work is inspired by the characters and tales of mistaken identity from the Italian theatre. These improvised plays, performed by touring troupes, originated in Italy from the 16th century and influenced Shakespeare and artists from Goya to Picasso. The installation features a dramatic stage set with props, costumes, sound and film: performative and theatrical devices, which retell an infamous story of deception and imposture.
