    Abstract

    Supply chain is a widely discussed topic in the last decades. The Just-in-Time concept in manufacturing was a massive success towards the end of the millennium. The Just-In-Time delivery has become a crucial indicator of a company’s competitive advantage. Whilst Supply Chain is an integral part of logistics, this paper systematically reviews the fundamentals of supply chain including the definition and difference between a value chain and a supply chain in an academic context, including some key supply chain management principles
