Abstract

Since the 1950s antipsychotic medication (hereafter referred to as neuroleptic), has played an important role in the field of mental health care. Owing to the ability of pharmaceutical companies to produce high quality, standardized units of medication it has been possible to undertake double-blind random controlled trials with medication. Therefore, there is a plethora of evidence supporting the efficacy of varying types of medication.
