Abstract
– Drug-in-adhesive acrylic layers containing ibuprofen were prepared at unsaturated (10%w/w, 15%w/w)
and saturated (20%w/w, 25%w/w) concentrations and
stored at three different conditions: ambient (RT), high
relative humidity (HH) and low temperature (LT). X-ray
analysis confirmed the presence of the same ibuprofen
polymorph in layers stored at all conditions despite subtle
morphological differences. Enthalpy of fusion measurements on the layers after 76 days’ storage indicated suppression of ibuprofen crystallisation at low temperature.
