Abstract

Tees Dance Film Fest is an international screedance festival interested in interdisciplinary projects that merge choreography and innovative filmmaking. It provides a platform for young artists as well as professional artists to screen original works in order to reach a wide audience. The festival offers a platform to develop further relationships and networks with other dance film artists and interdisciplinary dance professionals, whilst also creating a sense of opportunity and community spirit among people interested in dance film works and the arts. The festival is the first dance film festival to offer a youth only category and one of only a few existing screendance festivals in the UK. Working in partnership with Teesside University, Tees Valley Dance, Dance Middlesbrough, Middlesbrough Council, Mima-Middlesbrough Institute and the Sans Souci International Festival of Dance Cinema.
