Abstract

This paper discusses application of a form of Hazard and Operability Study to Ward/Mellor behavioural and environmental models. It discusses a novel means of capturing the concept of 'operability' and illustrates how the method can be applied to a small but realistic case study. Our approach integrates well with both traditional process-industry HAZOP and with the software engineering process.
