Abstract
There are many shades of the dark side, but psychopathic leadership is the eeriest of all. As the dark lords of social predation, armed with a dire repertoire of traits, psychopathic leaders will go to any extent to achieve personal ambitions at the expense of others. Yet, organisations are drawn to their superficial charm and charisma. Shall we then be prey to the psychopathic predator? This chapter reflects on the predatory process, the importance of redefining followership culture, and the fundamentals of surviving psychopathic leadership.
