Abstract

A generative motion graphic based on a set of design rules which respond to Shakespeare's literature, life, current media and the theatrical device of 'The Fool.' Visuals are created dynamically through a fictional narrative timeline and the activities of Twitter users. The code was launched and ran for 54hrs over the 400th Anniversary weekend of Shakespeare's death. The resulting visuals were live streamed through two websites. Widely shared and viewed across the world, the project was mentioned by leading creative industries publication Creative Review. The visuals were also projected inside Kronborg Castle, Helsingor, Denmark as part of the Shakespeare: The Next 400 Years conference.
