Abstract

Spinal deformities such as scoliosis, hyper kyphosis, increased or de-
creased lordosis as well as marked b
ack asymmetries are all potential
sources of spinal pain. The measure
ment of 3D spinal posture and mobil-
ity is important for both the clinical and research context (epidemiological
and clinical studies). Within clinical p
ractice, monitoring changes in back
shape and spinal mobility over time is fundamental for patients with
spinal pain. Although various techniques are available to measure spinal
posture and kinematics in a research or lab-based environment, there is
still a need for a less expensive, portable, mobile-based application, to rec-
ord 3D spinal posture and mobility with precision and accuracy.
